Dynamic Forms: One Thing to Check Before Upgrading Your Lightning Record Pages

Dynamic Forms make Lightning Record Pages much more flexible by allowing fields and sections to be controlled directly from the Lightning App Builder. However, if you’re upgrading an existing implementation, there’s an important scenario that’s easy to overlook.

If your object has multiple Page Layouts assigned to different profiles, and those profiles share the same Lightning Record Page, upgrading to Dynamic Forms can unexpectedly change what users see.

In this video, I demonstrate this behavior with a practical example, explain why it happens, and discuss couple of approaches to address it before deploying the changes to Production.

I hope you find it useful. Happy learning!
